Cry

The visuals in this piece consist of two synthesized OpenGL NURBS surfaces and Mesh objects, one corresponding to the kick drum and the other corresponding to the snare drum. The synthesized objects are cross faded with multiple geometrical shapes, which change each time an amplitude threshold is crossed. This can be seen when the shapes switch places around the screen. A Different drawing primitive has been used for a better aesthetic look, so all the smaller collection of lines are vertices of the same shape.

The music is a quick sampling mash-up, with the drums being taken from the outro of a Meters track and the ambient, background drone created from a sample of church bells I recorded a while ago.

Ryat Series

A series of videos and still images demonstrating various audio-reactive visual effects, tested using tracks from the album ‘Totem’ by Ryat.

All effects were created using Max/MSP/Jitter, with audio analysis and video processing/synthesis programmed within the same patch and running in real time.
